Big Sky, MT

March 14 - 21, 2009

Lots of Snow but Not Many People!

Everything in Montana is big, beautiful and wide-open and Big Sky Resort is no exception. The vastness of Big Sky and the unique scenic beauty will envelope your senses and revitalize your soul. Once you strap on your skis and explore theblue bird mountains, you'll feel as if this winter paradise was reserved exclusively for you. Ski Big Sky and discover over 3,800 acres of terrain on three immense mountains that provide you with enough variety and expanse to practically eliminate lift-lines.  This will be the final Texas Ski Council trip of the season.

If that isn’t enough skiing for you, adjoining Big Sky is Moonlight Basin with more than 1,900 ski-able acres and a vertical drop of 4,150’. The combined Big Sky and Moonlight Basin lift pass will have an additional charge.  With enough interest, there will be day trip to Bridger Bowl. Renowned for its light, deep powder, it got rave reviews from those who took this option on our last Big Sky trip.

Big Sky skiing has captured the ski world's attention with its awe-inspiring Lone Peak Tram to the 11,166 foot summit of its mountain namesake. The tram has bestowed upon Big Sky the honor of having the most total vertical feet (4,350) of skiing in the United States.  It offers 360° views of Yellowstone Park, the Tetons and all three bordering states.

Montana is known for its vast, beautiful landscapes and at Big Sky there's no exception. This ski resort is known for excellent skiing on an un-crowded mountain, spectacular scenery and western hospitality that will make you feel right at home. An annual snow fall of more than 400 inches makes Big Sky a winter wonderland that shouldn’t be missed.

Ski In/Ski out Accommodations! The Huntley Lodge is one of the most popular lodging options in Big Sky. Part of the late NBS news broadcaster Chet Huntley’s original vision, Huntley Lodge is a three-story hotel that was recently remodeled. The Lodge is just a short walk away from the shops, restaurants, pool and workout facilities of Big Sky. Each hotel room features a wet bar, coffee maker, refrigerator, TV, and seating area. Additional amenities include baby and childcare, laundry facilities, meeting facilities, free parking, a restaurant onsite, room service, a concierge, a hot tub, a complimentary breakfast, and a 24-hour front desk.

For those who want a kitchen, there are a limited number of studios available next door to the Huntley for an additional $50 per person. Breakfast is not included in the Village Center Studios.
