A New Twist on an Austin Skiers Favorite

Package Includes a

Sport Utility Vehicle for each Condo

Austin Skiers has been enjoying the fabulous skiing at Snowbasin and Powder Mountain for a decade, while the rest of the world barely knows they exist.  Neither of these two mountains have very much lodging, so we always stayed in Ogden.  Now we have discovered Wolf Creek Utah (yes Utah, not Colorado!) as a place to stay and add to the fun.  Wolf Creek Utah is a ski and golf resort with its own fun little mountain with 3 lifts. It is only a few miles from Powder Mountain and 15 miles from Snowbasin.

The Package:

Wolf Creek Utah is offering us an exciting package that includes:

  • 6 nights lodging in 2 Bedroom 2 Bath condos
  • 5 days of lift tickets: 2 days at Snowbasin, 2 days at Powder Mountain and 1 day at Wolf Creek Mountain
  • Additional ski free the day of arrival at Wolf Creek Mountain
  • 2 group dinners at Wolf Creek Utah Golf Resort
  • 1 sport utility vehicle for each condo for the entire trip:  pick it up and drop it off at the airport

Since the lift tickets are included in the package, they are not sold separately and cannot be deducted from the trip price for non-skiers or people who want to ski fewer than 5 days.

 The Skiing:

Snowbasin is a Sun Valley Resort. With 25 years of experience building legendary Sun Valley Idaho into one of the most elegant resorts in North America, its owner has complemented Snowbasin's magnificent God-given terrain and plentiful powder with four sumptuous lodges. High-speed gondolas, chairlifts and a tram whisk snow sport and food lovers up nearly 3,000 vertical feet into the distant corners of this vast arena, unveiling an endless variety of choices that satisfy all appetites. Snowbasin guests now enjoy the fine dining, breathtaking views, meticulous slope grooming, attentive customer care and superb shopping already familiar to those who know Sun Valley.  Last season, the readers of Ski magazine voted Snowbasin No. 1 for lifts, No. 2 for on-mountain food and No. 3 in service.

The 104 designated runs on 2,820 acres offer some amazing skiing and boarding experiences! With some of the most varied terrain to be found in a resort (20% beginner, 50% intermediate and 30% advanced), you will certainly find just what you are looking for. Wide runs ensure that you will have plenty of elbow room. Twelve lifts with a total capacity of 14,650 people per hour guarantees more time on the mountain and less time in lift lines.

powdermtnWith a whopping 5,500 acres of skiable terrain, Powder Mountain is the largest ski resort in the U.S. Even on the busiest day, you may only find 1 skier per 2 acres. Powder Mountain relies solely on Mother Nature for snow and she generously delivers 500 inches annually. The readers at Ski magazine consistently rate Powder Mountain high for value and snow quality.

About half of Powder Mountain is a traditional lift served resort with an abundance of beautifully groomed cruisers (25% beginner, 40% intermediate and 35% advanced). The rest of the resort is left untouched for powder hounds. Take your pick of the 1,200 acres served by Powder Country shuttle, 700 acres accessed by a short ride on the Lightning Ridge Snowcat or the 1,000 acres reserved for the Snowcat Powder Safari. The staff at Powder Mountain shares your passion for winter sports and gladly goes above and beyond to make your visit special. The resort’s focus is on the slopes and on delivering an extraordinary experience for each guest.

Wolf Creek is a great place to just have fun.  The 110 skiable acres might sound small compared to Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, but it feels like more than that.  The terrain is 35% beginner, 45% intermediate and 20% advanced.  It has the region’s best terrain park with over 40 rails and snow features as well as night skiing with the entire mountain lit up each evening.

 Lodging:

We will be staying in 2 bedroom 2 bath Moose Hollow condos at the Wolf Creek Utah resort in Eden, UT.

wolfcreekThe Town:
What town?
Are you kidding?  Not much here, but that is why they are providing sport ute’s.  Actually you can eat at places like Carlos & Harley’s (sound familiar), Harley & Bucks (notice a theme here), Eats of Eden, plus a couple more or pick up supplies at the Valley Market.  You can also drive over to Ogden, which is 16 miles away.

Transportation:

We will be flying to Salt Lake City, which is about an hour’s drive to Wolf Creek.  We will be picking up and returning the sport utility vehicles at the airport and drive in groups of 4.  There are free shuttles from our lodging to Powder Mountain that run a couple of times of day.  Participants are responsible for the rental cars and should pay for the additional insurance if they think they need it and will also have to pay for fuel.  The cost of the rental will be billed directly to Wolf Creek Utah Resort.
