Panoramic Skiing:

As North America’s largest single mountain resort, Heavenly’s nine peaks and two valleys split the Nevada-California border and offer the best of both states. It has mountain long runs, wide-open groomed cruisers and pristine powder filled bowls. Most importantly, the legendary deep powder serves up unbeatable skiing and boarding. Heavenly has a massive 4,800 acres of skiing with 79 trails so you’re sure to have lots to ski. 

The average annual snowfall is a formidable 360 inches. Just in case that’s not enough, they have one of the largest snowmaking systems on the continent, covering 70% of the mountain.

Besides its outstanding skiing, Heavenly is also known for its breathtaking views of the blue-green waters of Lake Tahoe. You’ll experience the joy of skiing under sunny, crystal clear blue skies surrounded by gorgeous, snow-covered peaks.

If there is enough interest, there will be an optional day trip to ski Kirkwood, which is only 45 minutes away and offers 2,300 skiable acres of vast bowls and pristine snowfields surrounded by volcanic cliffs and granite ledges – one of the most gorgeous mountain valley sanctuaries you will find.  Kirkwood is a favorite of many Austin Skiers.

Another option is to ski Northstar, which is less than an hour away and offers 3,000 acres of great skiing.  The tree skiing at Northstar is legendary.  For a bonus, your Heavenly lift ticket is good at Northstar too!

The Town

Hugging the water's shore, the town of South Lake Tahoe offers beauty and excitement- from the quieter side of cozy restaurants and friendly pubs, to the bright lights and busy nightlife of a string of 6 casinos that feature all-night dance clubs and world class entertainment. So much to do, so little time!

Accommodations

You will stay at Harvey’s Casino Hotel, a 5-minute walk to the convenient Gondola. Austin Skiers will be staying in the spacious deluxe Lake View rooms with unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding areas. Besides full service gaming, this casino offers 6 restaurants, a year-round pool, health club, massage and nightly entertainment including stand-up comedy and live music.
