Presidents Message
July 4th this year was unlike anything I’ve experienced in recent memory with the Central Texas Floods. It claimed over 100 lives and damaged homes, vehicles, boat docks, bridges and roadways throughout the area. The email we put out on July 10 was designed to provide suggestions on where to donate money as the best way to have the most impact. I think it force multiplies more than if the club had provided a direct donation. I personally communicated with a variety of people I know from my business days having the “Hill Country” as my sales territory for 17 years to Austin Skier members and others I’ve met having lived in Austin since early 1977. The response has been gratifying to hear from people via text, phone call or emails. We are glad to have played a role in hopefully providing guidance. It has come to our attention that we have many folks right here in Travis County have suffered greatly. The Austin Disaster Recovery Network (ADRN) is organizing volunteers for the Leander, Jonestown, Lago Vista, and other rural areas, to assist in clean-up, restoration and care for those who suffered loss. On to some ski stuff. We opened trip registration on June 28, the earliest we ever have and had a great 1st day! We sold 64% of our pillows in about 2 hours! We have 4 of the 9 ski trips SOLD OUT – Snowmass, Val Thorens, Beaver Creek and Banff. If you’re still interested in a SOLD OUT trip we encourage you to sign up on the waitlist as there are always cancellations for any number of reasons. The TSC will also be offering an African Safari Adventure in Tanzania Nov. 1-9, 2026 in case you missed out on our Africa Trip this September!
Both the TSC Trips are looking for qualified Trip VP’s to lead these trips. If you have interest, please contact me for an application or click here. Per the TSC Bylaws, nominations for a first time Texas Ski Council Office require Club approval. Current elected Officers may submit their own name. Happy Hours are a fun way to meet members and newcomers!
July 24 - North - Salt Traders Coastal Cooking - Over 20 attendees that included three new members and one possible newcomer. Great food, drinks and camaraderie was enjoyed by all.
August 14 - District Kitchen South Austin - Again over 20 attendees and some possible newcomers. Wow, exciting to see and talk with prospective newbies.

Member Name Tags
The board decided to end the practice of automatically ordering name tags upon new membership registrations. If you meet with someone who does not have a name tag, please remind them there is a link on the Home Page and under “Members Only” on the website to order one or just click here Order Name Tags . Also, all new members have the opportunity to order a name tag when signing up.

Annual Dues for 2025-2026 increase Sept 1st. Membership dues will see an increase this year AND, if you pay before September 1, a discount will be applied. Payment of annual dues between March 1, 2025 - August 31, 2025 is $45 for individuals and $80 for family membership. Membership dates are June 1 - May 31. Payment of annual dues between September 1,2025 - February 28, 2026 will be $55 for individuals and $90 for family memberships. Family includes 2 adults and all children aged 24 or younger within the immediate family.
